Research Opportunities for Medical Students

CCOUC has been working with promising CUHK medical students to research on Health-EDRM. Mr Evan Shang, a 5th year CUHK medical student, has recently joined force with CCOUC colleagues to publish a paper “Factors Associated with Urban Risk-Taking Behaviour during 2018 Typhoon Mangkhut: A Cross Sectional Study” at the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Relevant report by the CUHK Faculty of Medicine can be found here.

Another two medical students, Tiffany SHAM and Tayyab Salim SHAHZADA, joined a research led by CCOUC Director Professor Emily Chan to review studies on vector-borne diseases in the past two decades. Collaborating with experts of the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations, local scholars and GX Foundation, the study “Narrative Review on Health-EDRM Primary Prevention Measures for Vector-Borne Diseases” has just been published on International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
