Public Education on Weather and Health

In order to enhance resilience of local population in face of extreme weather events, CCOUC collaborated with Hong Kong Observatory to talk about weather-related health issues in a radio programme “Climate Watcher” of the public broadcaster Radio Television Hong Kong on 7 December 2019.

In the programme, CCOUC Assistant Director, Mr Chi Shing Wong, introduced the centre’s research on extreme temperatures and mortality and morbidity in Hong Kong, including those for vulnerable age groups and specific diseases. The health impact of other extreme weather events, natural disasters and climate change were also discussed in the programme.
