CCOUC won an award in the 49th Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Conference 

 

Dr Chunlan Guo of CCOUC won an Outstanding Oral Presentation Award with the presentation entitled “Disaster Preparedness on Fire Incidents of Urban Public Transportation System: A Cross-sectional Study in a Chinese Metropolis” in the 49th Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Conference held in Incheon, Republic of Korea from 17 to 19 August 2017.

The theme for this year’s conference was “The Age of Shifting Paradigm SDGs, New Approach for Public Health” and consisted of four plenary and 14 parallel symposiums, 239 oral presentations in 18 sections and 190 poster presentations in 14 sections.

The CCOUC team of three delivered four oral presentations in this conference. Prof Jean Kim presented “Acceptability of Assisted Reproductive Technologies in a Very Low Fertility Country: The Case of Hong” in Health Policy section. Mr Sida Liu delivered a presentation entitled “Cold-related Thermal Sensation and Discomfort in a Sub-tropical city: A Case of Hong Kong” in Environmental Health section. Dr Guo gave two presentations: the one mentioned above and “Teaching Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management (Health-EDRM) using Massive Open Online Course: Building a Global Humanitarian Response Community” in Health Information and Disaster section.

Moreover, publicities and promotions of the online courses provided by CCOUC and other related programmes were undertaken via the platform of APACPH. This event was an opportunity to continue the on-going involvement of CCOUC and The Chinese University of Hong Kong in this regional platform for health professionals and academics in the region.
