CCOUC & CGH Public Health Lecture for Honduras Ministry of Health Delegation

Professor Emily Chan, Co-Director of CCOUC and Director of CUHK Centre for Global Health, delivered a lecture entitled “Principles and Latest Updates of Public Health and Health Emergency and Disaster Management Responses” for a six-member delegation from the Honduran Ministry of Health on 9 January 2025 during the delegation’s visit to Hong Kong to engage in medical and public health exchanges. Professor Chan also exchanged views with the delegation on public and environmental health challenges faced by the Central American country and shared experiences in combating dengue fever epidemics.

Upon arrival in Hong Kong, the delegation visited various institutions in Hong Kong, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Medical Centre, the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care at CUHK, the Centre for Health Protection of Hong Kong Department of Health, and the Fire Services Department. These visits aimed to understand Hong Kong's emergency management model for public health emergencies, providing valuable insights for enhancing Honduras's emergency response system.
