Overseas Training Fellows

Ms. Tiffany YEUNG

Overseas Training Fellow
2016

Ms. Tiffany Yeung is the very first recipient of the Overseas Training Fellowship for Healthcare Professionals. This Fellowship is one of the various fellowship schemes under The Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJC DPRI) and is jointly administered by the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC). The generous support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is vital to the establishment of all the fellowship schemes under HKJC DPRI.

With this precious learning opportunity, Tiffany is currently serving as an intern at Public Health England, under the supervision of Prof. Virginia Murray. During the initial phase of her fellowship, Tiffany is very much involved with the organization of the UNISDR Science and Technology Conference on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-30 (Geneva, Switzerland). She is now working under the Global Disaster Risk Reduction team of PHE and is working on various academic publications exploring the arena of disaster risk reduction via the lens of Sendai Framework.

Tiffany has been keeping a youth advocacy blog on her experience during her time at Public Health England and relating to ideas on some possible ways to enhance disaster preparedness in Hong Kong.
